The OL women’s players came very close to elimination on Saturday afternoon during the quarter-final of the Coupe de France which pitted them against Reims. Sonia Bompastor’s protégés actually had to wait for the end of an interminable penalty shootout to breathe and validate their ticket for the semi-finals of the competition (2-2, 7-8 tab).
Marozsan had however opened the scoring for OL (32′, 0-1) but Reims managed to equalize through Corboz (35th, 1-1). Bis then repeated, with a goal from Däbritz (55′, 1-2) to which the future Olympian Dumornay answered (68′, 2-2).
Finally, despite the failures of Renard and Vanessa Gilles, Endler’s three saves allowed Les Fenottes to advance to the next round. But OL may have lost Amandine Henry, hit in the knee.
