After installing the Adrenalin 23.2.1 WHQL driver for AMD graphics cards, in rare cases, critical problems with Windows may occur. The GPU manufacturer spoke about this in a comment for the PCWorld portal.
Problems with the new AMD driver became known in mid-February. Users of thematic forums note that if you check the factory reset box before installing the driver, then the system does not start after a reboot. The PC gives a blue screen with an error Inaccessible Boot Device. It turned out that the program itself changes the BIOS settings. Therefore, you must either refuse to install the update, or do not check the reset to factory settings box, or first remember the BIOS settings and roll back the changes after the patch. If you do not follow these recommendations, you will have to reinstall Windows.
AMD representatives confirmed that you should not reset the driver settings to factory settings. They noted that they are already working on fixing the problem. They also clarified that you should not install the driver while downloading system updates.
