Kozma managed the role of favorite and advanced in the fight for more than seven million crowns

Leading Czech MMA fighter David Kozma defeated Lukasz Siwiec from Poland 2:1 on points in an even duel and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Octagon “Tipsport Gamechanger” pyramid in the welterweight category. All three judges scored the duel 29:28, two of them in Ostrava determined the home fighter as the winner.

“I expected that I won all three rounds by all the judges, but maybe someone saw it differently. I can’t judge it when I’m in the match. I didn’t expect such a drama and I was finally happy that they gave it to me,” said Kozma , which thus advanced to the next phase of the project with a budget of one million euros. The winner will receive 300,000 euros.

Siwiec was very active especially in the second round, which he seems to have won. “I wasn’t shaken. I felt that something went through, but it didn’t do anything to my head. If I compare it to the blows of the Briton, who sat me down and shot me to Mars, this did not shake me,” said Kozma, who lost to the Brazilian in December Kaik Briton and lost the Octagon Championship belt.

The second Czech, who joined the project as a substitute at the last moment, Andrej Kalashnik, clearly lost on points to Louis Glismann from Denmark. “He is a great professional, he took the fight a day in advance and it was a hell of a lot of work,” praised the performance of the Czech fighter Glismann, who was a big favorite for the match. Kalashnik replaced Georgian Amiran Gogoladze, who did not meet the weight limit.

From other matches, the Germans Christian Jungwirth and Marcel Grabinski, Andreas Michailidis from Greece, Croatian Bojan Veličkovic, Melvin van Suijdam from the Netherlands and Alex Lohoré from France advanced to the next round.

The quarter-final duels will probably take place at Octagon events on May 20 in Prague and June 17 in Oberhausen, Germany.
