Charity event “Chefs Dreams Dinner” tegen MS

OOn Sunday, March 5, the chef of Conference Hotel Kontakt der Kontinenten, Niels Blokker, is organizing a culinary evening to raise money for research into Multiple Sclerosis.

MS is a disease of the brain and spinal cord that can cause bodily functions to fail

In January 2019, Niels was diagnosed with MS and, after a number of major changes in his lifestyle, can now deal with this uncertain disease that affects 1 in 1,000 Dutch people with more energy. There are 25,000 people with MS in the Netherlands; every day someone in the Netherlands is diagnosed with MS. The first symptoms usually show up when people are between 20 and 40 years old, it is the most disabling disease among young people. There are medicines that slow down the disease, but there is not (yet) a solution for MS.

The line up of the “Chefs Dreams Dinner” consists of eight befriended top chefs who each take care of a course of the dinner. In addition to these chefs, suppliers and volunteers are selflessly committed to making this evening a culinary feast. The evening is framed by inspiring speakers and live music. The proceeds will be used via the MoveS foundation to support research into MS and thus improve the lives of MS patients now and in the future. The pleasure of the profession.

As a native of Harderwijk, Niels is helped as a colleague and friend by the local chefs Barry Hamstra (Tollius), Robert Poel (Savage), Peele Koops (Chez Brochard) and Quint van den Esschert (Quint Patisserie) and Laurens Samsen (Huisje James). In addition, more chefs will join to be part of this evening, where the chefs, in addition to supporting the good cause, also make it an inspiring and pleasant evening.
