Self-help book author and activist Marianne Williamson is the first to formally launch her candidacy to become the Democrats’ presidential candidate in 2024.
Williamson announced on Saturday that she is running as a candidate in the Democrats’ nomination race, and she is the first to formally challenge Joe Biden.
– As of today, I am a candidate for the position of President of the United States, said the 70-year-old when she kicked off her election campaign in the presidential suite at Union Station, the train station in Washington DC
Thus, she got ahead of Biden, as he has not yet publicly announced that he is running for re-election, which most Democrats believe he will do soon.
But few of them give her any hope. Williamson also ran for the nomination in the last presidential election, but withdrew in January 2020. During the election campaign at the time, she was often more concerned with spiritual healing than gathering votes.
