Coach Jiří Jarošík left Teplice football players after an unsuccessful entry into the spring part of the first league season. The club management dismissed the 45-year-old coach after today’s 1:4 league defeat at Letná with Sparta, after which North Bohemia was separated by only two points from the last place in the table. Teplice plan to announce a new head coach on Monday.
Jarošík is the first dismissed coach in the spring part of the league season. After the winter break, the North Bohemians won only one point in six rounds and lost five times. In the last two matches, they suffered heavy defeats 1:4 and after 22 rounds, with 53 goals conceded, they have the worst defense in the competition. Teplický is currently in 14th place in the table, which means that it is the first to participate in the playoff to stay among the elite.
“Jiří Jarošík clearly deserves thanks for what he was able to do with the team, but the beginning of the spring did not go well for the team in terms of results or playing. Our primary task now is to start the team before a series of important matches that await us,” said the director of the Teplice club Rudolf Řepka.
Jarošík has led North Bohemia since September last year, when he replaced Radim Kučera on the bench. At that time, Teplický was in the penultimate place in the table with five points. The former Czech representative managed to start the team after the initial series of defeats and last season he saved North Bohemia among the elite after a successful playoff for the top competition against Vlašim.
Jarošík had no idea until the last moment that he would end up with the team. “When I arrived, the situation was much worse. At the beginning of the spring, unfortunately, we now had five or six important losses in the lineup, that’s an awful lot. Now the mess is being emptied, there’s nothing to make excuses for. It’s a question of the current form of the players. Results the game is not good either, of course I am responsible for that. I perceive that,” said Jarošík at the press conference after the match in Sparta.
“However, no one from the management spoke to me about anything. I think we will meet on Tuesday, so we will probably decide what to do next. I don’t know more yet. I am training and doing 100 percent for the team. We will see how it all turns out,” Jarošík added. which was revoked just a few minutes later.
