With the drastically falling number of asylum applications, our system is steadily recovering
Vienna (OTS) – “The People’s Party is working through the failures of the FPÖ step by step. The fact that Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer made the asylum debate a ‘top priority’ was spot on. With a strict but fair asylum course and strengthened partnerships with both neighboring countries and countries of origin, renewed asylum chaos could be prevented in a preventive and sustainable manner. The then Minister of the Interior, Herbert Kickl, apparently never intended to improve the status quo, preferring instead to organize a mounted police force. He didn’t care about the security of the Austrians and the precarious state of our welfare state,” says the General Secretary and security spokesman of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, about the falling number of asylum seekers.
“The Freedom Party must learn to accept the truth, because denying facts – which are transparent and accessible to everyone – is a mockery of society and an increasingly radical attitude,” and finally Stocker emphasizes: “With the drastically falling number of asylum applications, ours is recovering system steady. The working visit to Morocco together with Minister of the Interior Gerhard Karner and the agreed agreement laid another foundation stone to make repatriations easier. However, the EU still has an obligation to deliver, because only together can we make asylum policy fair at European level.”
