Main Director of Pertamina Nicke Widyawati again apologized for fire Pertamina Plumpang depot, North Jakarta.

He represented Pertamina’s ranks to express his condolences for the victims in the incident.

“I and all Pertamina staff apologize for this incident. None of us wanted this incident to happen,” Nicke said at Pertamina Central Hospital, Jakarta, Saturday (4/3).

“In this case, we apologize to all affected communities, the families left behind,” he continued.

Nicke said that currently there are 35 injured people who are still receiving treatment. He promised the victim would be given the best service. Pertamina will also bear all the costs of treating the victims and provide compensation for the victims who died.

“All costs until declared cured and able to go home and carry out activities as usual will be entirely Pertamina’s responsibility,” said Nicke.

Nicke also promised that the needs of victims who are currently displaced will be fully met. On the other hand, he ensured that fuel oil (BBM) services would still be maintained in the midst of a fire incident. “There are sufficient fuel stocks for Jakarta, Banten and West Java,” said Nicke.

Previously, Nicke had also apologized in a written statement. He also said that fuel supplies remained safe with back-up supplies from the nearest terminals, namely Tanjung Gerem TBBM, Cikampek TBBM, and Ujung Berung TBBM.

Fuel supplies were also secured through support from the Cilacap and Balongan refineries which were channeled by sea to Tanjung Priok TBBM.

In this case, Nicke said that the handling of the incident was in collaboration with related parties.

“Pertamina will provide the best treatment for affected communities,” said Nicke in a written statement, Friday (3/3).
