Pata Yamaha Racer Toprak Razgatlioglu gave his comments after finishing in second place in Race 1 WSBK Mandalika 2023.
Race 1 of the WSBK Mandalika 2023 took place at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, Indonesia, on Saturday (4/3) afternoon.
Two WSBK stars Alvaro Bautista and Toprak Razgatlioglu had to fight fiercely for pole position.
Toprak, who started in first position, finally had to settle for finishing in second place behind Alvaro Bautista. After the race, the racer from Turkey also gave his comments about finishing in second place in race 1 of the 2023 WSBK Mandalika.
“I’ve tried to do my best but in the end I finished in second place. But in tomorrow’s race [Minggu] I will try to do better and fight to be the champion. God willing,” Toprak said.
Toprak was actually able to lead the Mandalika WSBK Race 1 for the first four laps. He was followed by Alvaro Bautista and Bassani.
However, the situation changed on the seventh lap. Bautista managed to pass Toprak, who then had to be willing to drop to second place.
Bautista was able to maintain the first position. The Spaniard was even slowly able to get away from Toprak’s pursuit with 13 laps remaining.
By the end of the race the position had not changed, Bautista finished in first place while Toprak was in second.
