8:35 am: Joe Biden announces new military aid
An additional 400 million euros will be delivered to Ukraine, the American president announced during a visit by his counterpart Olaf Scholz to Washington. Western military aid to Ukraine has been crucial in enabling Kiev to withstand Russian troop assaults and even regain ground, but the Kremlin has said such aid would only “prolong the conflict and have sad consequences for the Ukrainian people”.
