The mayor of Jonava district, Mindaugas Sinkevičius, thanked the managers of Jonava’s “CBet” basketball club for winning second place in the King Mindaugas Cup tournament, the municipality reports.
On Monday, club manager Vaidas Vaškevičius and team coach Virginijus Šeškus visited the municipality, who brought the silver cup won in Šiauliai to the meeting with the mayor.
“I thank the Jonava club for an unforgettable weekend that we, the people of Jonava, spent either in the Šiauliai Arena or glued to the television screens. Thank you not only for the beautiful emotions, but also for promoting Jonava’s name”, thanked M. Sinkevičius.
The mayor gave a special thank you to the fans of the Jonava club, who have been loyal to their city’s team for more than the first season, fill the stands of the Jonava arena in abundance, and travel to matches in other cities.
Jonava fans especially passionately supported the team in the Šiauliai Arena during the final four of the King’s Mindaugas Cup.
