NEW YORK (Dagbladet): Sizemore is best known for his roles in the military films “Saving Private Ryan” and “Black Hawk Down”.
On Friday, his manager, Charles Lago, confirmed the death opposite People Magazine.
Sizemore suffered a brain haemorrhage at his home on 18 February this year. He was hurriedly transported by ambulance to the hospital in a critical condition. Since then he has been in a coma and in a critical condition. He never regained consciousness until he died.
– Great sadness
– There is no hope
– It is with great sadness and grief that I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 61 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Burbank, says Lago in a statement.
Both his brother Paul Sizemore and his twin sons Jayden and Jagger (17) are said to have been with the actor when he died.
– He was larger than life. He has influenced my life more than anyone I know. He was talented, loving, giving and could entertain you endlessly with his humor and ability to tell stories. I am devastated that he is gone and I will miss him forever, says Paul Sizemore, according to People Magazine.
Drug problems
Earlier this week, Lago stated that doctors had told them there was no longer any hope that Sizemore would survive. Thus, it must have been up to the family to decide when the treatment should end.
– He received many death threats
– Today the doctors informed his family that there is no hope, and have recommended that his life be ended, says Charles Lago, who represents the actor, in a statement.
The actor previously struggled with drug problems. He was also accused of assault and had several convictions against him. In recent years, however, he should have managed to get his life in order, according to the manager.
