Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley steps up her fight against Donald Trump. It is his age in particular that she targets.
At a conference on Friday, 51-year-old Haley asked conservative politicians to invest in younger leaders, and sharply criticized the Republicans’ electoral results in the last two elections.
– If you are tired of losing, then put your trust in a new generation, she urged the participants at the annual Conservative Political Action conference.
Haley did not mention Trump by name, but once again asked for a “competency test” to be introduced for politicians over 75. Trump is 76 years old.
He has not responded to the age attack.
Haley is the first heavyweight to have signed up as a challenger to Trump in the nomination battle before the presidential election, which will be held in the fall of 2024. Haley is a former United Nations ambassador for the United States.
