Around 443,000 Chihuahuans meet the conditions to apply for the “MejoraSí” credit offered by the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit), which is aimed at beneficiaries who do not have a formal employment relationship, that is, that currently do not contribute to Infonavit, but at the time they did.
“We are making history because previously Infonavit had only been for active beneficiaries, but the possibility was opened for passive beneficiaries, that is, workers who at some point contributed to Infonavit and therefore had savings in the Balance of the Housing sub-account”, declared Octavio García Sáenz, Infonavit Delegate for the state of Chihuahua.
These people who stopped actively contributing to the fund, either because they became independent, are their own employers, or work in some informal activity, can access a remodeling improvement credit, and not have to wait for pension time to recover this saving, as explained.
The credit ranges from 4,856 to 139,000 pesos and, unlike the “Mejoravit”, the amount that they will have in cash rises to 50% and the other 50% authorized will be exclusively for purchases, thus making access to the credits more flexible. cash resources.
It is worth mentioning that this new credit has a rate that goes from 0 to 4% depending on the amount requested; The maximum age to contract it is 65 years, and the term to pay is up to 5 years.
The requirements are to have a minimum amount of 5 thousand 400 pesos in the Housing Subaccount, to authorize the consultation of the Credit Bureau; that the dwelling in which the repairs will be made is inhabited by the beneficiary, whether it is in his or her name or recognized before the Public Registry of Property or that legitimate possession is accredited; and fill out a socioeconomic questionnaire.
According to information from the local delegate, there are 443,000 Chihuahuans who meet this profile, that is, they have part of the resources in the Housing Subaccount and can now use it as a guarantee to request a loan from Infonavit.
Likewise, García Sáenz notified that the Institute has specialized personnel who are only in charge of authorizing and approving the “Mejoravit” credits, and they will support with the “MejoraSí” credit.
