The changes during the corona pandemic have permanently changed the work culture in the offices, says a survey by the digital association Bitkom. According to this, 81 percent of the employees surveyed stated that their employer was now more open to digital technologies. 53 percent stated that the management style had become more cooperative and that supervisors were more responsive to employees’ needs.
“Corona has established more than just the home office in many companies, many employers have reconsidered and adjusted their entire personnel policy”, Bitkom President Achim Berg commented on the results. Around half of those surveyed stated that they increasingly work in cross-departmental teams. About a third cited more training opportunities as a change.
However, there were also downsides: Around a quarter of the employees complained that the employer had become more suspicious and wanted to monitor work performance more closely. According to Bitkom, 425 employees were interviewed for the representative survey.
