One of the scientists who worked on the creation of the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 “Sputnik V” was killed in Moscow, reported RIA Novosti.
The murder is Andrey Botikov from the Institute of Epidemiology “Gamalea”.
Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee in Moscow, said that the 29-year-old guest quarreled with the host and strangled him with a belt in one of the apartments on Rogov Street. The Investigative Committee of Russia has not announced the identity of the deceased.
According to a source of RIA Novosti, the person detained on suspicion of murder has already pleaded guilty.
Botikov is a senior research associate at Gamaleya and was awarded an order for his participation in the development of Sputnik.
The press service of the Moscow courts announced that Alexey Zmanovsky, accused in the case of the murder of Botikov, was sent to pre-trial detention and made full confessions of his guilt.
