During his regular annual checkup last month, US President Joe Biden had a skin cancer removed from his chest.
According to Biden’s doctor, after the operation, the president’s skin healed well, and a biopsy showed that it was basal cell carcinoma. He noted that further treatment was not required.
These lesions don’t tend to spread or metastasize like some more serious skin cancers, the doctor says.
“The biopsy site has healed well and the President will continue dermatological follow-up as part of his ongoing comprehensive medical care,” O’Connor wrote.
