‘Non-cooperation should be withdrawn’, IndiGo calls EP Jayarajan on phone; Reply by EP

Thiruvananthapuram: LDF convener EP Jayarajan was called by the top officials of the airline IndiGo. Indigo contacted the EP on phone asking them to withdraw their non-cooperation with the company. According to reports, EP has informed the IndiGo representatives that they will consider it if they request it in writing.

Last June, Indigo had banned EP Jayarajan from traveling on the grounds that he had beaten up Youth Congress workers who had protested against the Chief Minister on a flight. After the ban, the EP also announced that it is boycotting Indigo Airlines. Youth Congress activists Farzeen Majeed and Naveen Kumar had alleged that EP Jayarajan and the Chief Minister’s personal staff had beaten him up on the plane. This was followed by a travel ban.

One of the EP’s responses to the ban read: “There is no need for IndiGo Airlines to review the action on my behalf. It would be better if the airline comes forward to rectify the mistake if they realize the mistake. I will not be flying with Indigo Airlines any more. So nothing is going to happen to them. But that is my position on it.
