Ryzen 7000X3D sells better than 7000X after release, many e-shops are sold out

The briefly released processors with V-cache surprised the interest of customers. While considering the higher prices, it was expected that it would be more of a supplementary line to the original (classic) models, at least the first day of sales showed otherwise, despite the fact that some sellers inflated the price above the MSRP.

Although the German Mindfactory had practically no stock of Ryzen 9 7950X3D, it sold 360 units of Ryzen 9 7900X3D in the first day, making it the third best-selling processor (at the top of the list are significantly cheaper models: Ryzen 7 5800X3D with 490 units sold and Ryzen 7 5800X with 400 units sold). If we were to compare apples to apples, that is, sales on the day of launch, then Mindfactory sold 50% more Ryzen 9 7900X3D processors (360) than Ryzen 9 7900X (240 in the first 6 days of sales).

The situation is different on Amazon, where they had stock of both models Ryzen 9 7950X3D reached the position of the 12th best-selling processor (11th is the Ryzen 9 7950X) and would have gone even higher, but the stock was sold out. The Ryzen 9 7900X3D is currently ranked 24th and still in stock.

NewEgg immediately sold out of both models, and currently both novelties can be purchased via this portal only from China at a ~33% markup compared to the recommended price. The company says it is preparing to stock another batch.

It is difficult to judge whether the customers were interested in gaming performance alone, or low power consumption, or a combination of gaming performance, application performance and low power consumption, but AMD clearly managed to hit the demand, even at a time of declining sales, to come up with a (not cheap) product, which was followed worldwide .
