Desire and reality often diverge in life. For example when it comes to housing. In Switzerland, around 40 percent of the population lives in their own house or in condominium ownership. The remaining 60 percent live in rented accommodation. However, this is not a desirable state, as a study by Finanzscout 24 from 2021 shows: an overwhelming majority of 86 percent dream of owning a home. A wish that has now become even more distant with the turnaround in interest rates.
