The FFRandonnée Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur is once again organizing the Longe Côte Regional Championship with the support of the Hyères Longe Côte club.
This event will take place on Sunday March 26 on the Almanarre beach, in Hyères in the Var.
More than 300 participants from the region’s coastal clubs will compete in this qualifying event for the South Zone Championship on May 7 at the same place, which will then serve as a qualification for the French Championship in Carcans-Maubuisson (Gironde). ), June 3 and 4, 2023.
The Longe Côte is a new fashionable discipline which consists of walking in an aquatic environment with a height of water located between the navel and the armpits, using different propulsion techniques. Competitors will be divided by gender into 7 age categories: Cadets (12-15 years old), Juniors (16-19 years old), Seniors (20-39 years old) and Master 1-4 (40 years old and over).
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., they will follow courses of 50, 200, 400 and 1,000 meters in solo, pair or fourth. There will be two awards ceremonies, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Public entry to the site is completely free. The organization of the Championship benefits from the support of the City of Hyères, the Var Departmental Council and the South PACA Region.
