Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted that Conrad Sangma has sought BJP president Amit Shah’s help to form a new government. After ruling together for five years, the BJP was contesting alone after raising corruption charges against the NPP. In Nagaland, the NDPP (Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party) won 25 seats and its ally BJP won 12 seats. BJP had 12 seats last time too. NCP won seven seats and NPP five seats. The rest of the seats are for independents and smaller parties. Congress did not get any seats. NDPP’s Neefu Rio is likely to become the chief minister here for the fifth consecutive term.
