The release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been brought forward by one day. The film by Nintendo and Illumination can be seen in cinemas from April 5, Universal Pictures reports Wednesday.
The animated film about the cheerful Italian plumber was supposed to be released last year during the holidays.
The film features several characters from the popular computer game. Chris Pratt voices Mario and Charlie Day can be heard as Luigi. You can also hear Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad) and Seth Rogen (Donkey Kong).
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, who previously collaborated on Teen Titans Go!. The screenplay was written by Matthew Fogel, who also worked on The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part in Minions: The Rise of Gru.
