In the Dominican Republic, a man named Elvis François accidentally drifted in the Caribbean Sea for 24 days while repairing a boat by the sea at the end of last year. He survived only by eating tomato sauce and other seasonings. The American ketchup manufacturer “Heinz” (Heinz) launched a search for the man after learning about it, and wanted to send him a new boat.

CNN reported that François, a 47-year-old man, was repairing a boat in Saint Martin, a territory jointly administered by France and the Netherlands in the Caribbean, in December last year. In the Caribbean Sea, because he was not familiar with sailing knowledge and could not return by himself, he drifted at sea for up to 24 days.

François only had tomato sauce, garlic powder and broth cubes on board. He brewed them with rainwater and wrote “HELP” on the hull to ask for help. After 24 days, he finally arrived 120 kilometers northwest of Colombia’s Guajira Peninsula. In the sea, it was discovered from the air.

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, USA, the “Heinz” company launched the “Find the KetchupBoatGuy” action on the Internet, bluntly saying that the action “is an amazing group effort across 6 continents”, and the action touched nearly 5 million people Users received a lot of feedback, and finally “Heinz” successfully contacted the man.

The “Heinz” company aggressively stated that it would send a brand new ship with new nautical technology to the other party, so that he would no longer drift on the sea in the future, and was thinking about how to deliver the big gift to him.
