Defective battery and AdBlue tank: recall in Stellantis ranks

In February, two defects were discovered in the designs of Opel, Peugeot and Citroen cars of the Stellantis Group.

One of them is related to the failure of electric Opel Corsa-e, Mokka-e and Combo-e drive batteries released in 2022, which can cause engine malfunctions while driving. A short visit to the service center to update the software can fix the problem. At the same time as Opel, such a fault has also been discovered in related Citroen and Peugeot cars, affecting a total of around 17,500 vehicles of the Stellantis group.

The second defect was found in approximately 15,000 Stellantis vans in diesel version, including 6,331 Opel Zafira and Vivaro from 2020 and 2021. Due to a defect in the urea tank, the injection of AdBlue may fail, which means that compliance with the prescribed emission norms may be at risk.

Therefore, the German Federal Road Transport Authority (KBA) is calling all affected vehicles to repair shops, where they will have their AdBlue tanks replaced.

In addition to Opel Zafira and Vivaro, Peugeot Traveler and Expert, Citroen Jumpy and Spacetourer are also waiting for service.
