Moselle. A new Symphony concert this Sunday in Thionville

In February, they should have given the “LA” to Alain Chamfort. The production of the concert made a mistake in the planning of the tour, erasing Thionville. No matter, the musicians of the Symphonique Thionville-Moselle have proven that they know how to hang on and bounce back to play even harder. From this Sunday, they will offer a new concert at the theater around Beethoven’s triple concerto and Rutter’s Requiem. The first part was suggested by Pierre Trimbur, the director of the Thionville conservatory, who wanted to highlight young artists like Ugo Stella on the piano and his brother Jules on the violin, who studied in Thionville, as well as Garance Buretey Tiprez, one of their friend who is in Paris and who will play the cello. “It’s a big challenge for the trio, because there is a dialogue in the dialogue”, recognizes the conductor Salvatore Perri. “For the three of us, it’s an opportunity and a chance to measure up to such a work,” admits Ugo Stella, teacher at the Thionville conservatory. In the second part, make way for a surprising contemporary composer, namely John Rutter. “I have dreamed for years of offering this work,” admits Salvatore Perri. I love this composer for his singularity which mixes sacred music and modernity. We will be accompanied by local choirs as well as those of Arlon. Sixty singers will be on the theater stage, including soprano Alexia Dorczynki, trained in Thionville.

Witchcraft and Magic in June

With this kind of performance, the orchestra wants to build a crescendo. “We go from three to ten concerts, it’s ambitious. We have dates in Arlon, Metz, Forbach. Beautiful collaborations with the Maîtrise de la Cathédrale de Metz, but also a magical program on June 2 for young audiences. For us, it is motivating and rewarding. Innovating to surprise and attract the public is the will of the conductor and his sixty musicians.

Admission €10, reservation on the Thionville theater website. Concert on March 5 at 3 p.m.
