Faced with the Blazers of a Damian Lillard in the form of his life, the Warriors proved that they had heart: trailing by 23 points in the first half, Steve Kerr’s men spent the second to come back and win the match. A formidable collective effort that places them in sixth position in the West!
We certainly would not have put more than a Kopeck and chewed gum on a Warriors victory at halftime of the game between Golden State and Portland. Cornered, with low success in shooting, nothing seemed to be able to succeed with the clique of Klay Thompson. Without Stephen Curry, KaTé had to lead the way. What he did in the last games, but that was clearly more complicated… at first.
Yes but now, this team has it in the engine. Slowly but surely, the Californian game regained the upper hand in the second half. The reason for this? Already, three whistled fouls very quickly against Damian Lillard, which will force the Blazers to be cautious about their leader. Then, a clear revival of collective form. Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson have the baton, the rest of the troupe in their wake. More ball passing, as the Blazers force shots and suddenly get rough in the making of play.

It is also the number 11 which will put the Warriors in the lead in its most characteristic style, namely a three-point string chained from the small celebration which goes well. The Blazers will not recover and suffer for the last twelve minutes. Jordan Poole ends the game with 29 points, Klay has 23 units. The duo worked well, helped by a Draymond Green still as effective at 12 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. To finish the stat point, let’s also note the beautiful copy of Donte DiVincenzo: 21 points at 8/11 shooting, including 5/7 from Oakland. A collective effort we tell you.

With this great success, Golden State makes the perfect operation: the Mavericks made in their pants against the Pacers, allowing the Warriors to seize sixth place in the West, synonymous with direct qualification to the Playoffs. There remains of course more than a month of competition, but the signals are green even though Stephen Curry is absent. Next game against the Clippers on Friday, with the desire to continue the series and the rise in the standings. Keep going !
