NAACP Image Awards 2023 honored Tenoch Huerta for “Namor”

The Mexican actor was crowned Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Black Panther.

On the night of Saturday, February 25, the Mexican actor tenoch orchardwon the award of Best Supporting Actor during the 54th ceremony of the NAACP Image Awardsfor his participation with “Namor” en Black Panther: Wakanda forever.

These prizes are intended for recognize the participation and outstanding works of people of African descent in film, television, music and literature; hence Huerta said he was happy to be part of the changewhich is thanks to the support of the community and his family.

“I have no words. This is unexpected, but I have to say that I am nothing more than the result of a community. The cast and crew community at Black Panther. The community of all the people who made the film possible. The community that crossed the border, leaving everything behind, to build a new life in this wonderful country. For all the people whose land was stolen 500 years ago, to be here building a better life and a better country, for all the people who live here.”

the mexican actor competed against John Boyega and Aldis Hodgewho were considered by The King Woman and Black Adam, respectively.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the NAACP Image Awards reward Mexican talent, in 2015 Karla Souza celebrated the Best Drama Series award for his part in ‘How to get away with murder’.
