While Prince William (40) and Princess Kate (41) constantly grace newspaper covers, their children are often nowhere to be seen.
Together, the British prince couple have three children, Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (7) and Prince Louis (4).
– I will not
Like most other children in royal families, their descendants are increasingly in the limelight, despite their young age. Those who have an extra look at the royal family may have noticed that there is one of the children who is not as often present as the other two.
Not abnormal
The youngest son, Prince Louis, is absent more often than his two older siblings. When their great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, was buried in September, among other things, he was not there.
According to Se og Hør’s royal house expert Caroline Vagle, this is not abnormal. The young prince is still just that – young.
– It is primarily about age. He is only four years old, and there is a limit to how long a four-year-old can bear to sit still, she explains.
Sometimes Louis also gets the opportunity to take part in public events, and then he likes to play the bass drum and charm the audience into submission.
Surprised on the red carpet
Vagle highlights the example that the prince was present with his family during the celebration of the queen’s 70 years on the throne last summer.
– Then we all saw that it is not so easy to sit nice and decorative. The prince still charmed everyone with his antics! A funeral is something else entirely, and I’m guessing his age was the reason he didn’t attend.
No reason
Nor has the young prince been able to take part in foreign visits with his parents yet.
By comparison, his older brother George was nine months old when the family first traveled across the border from England, while Charlotte was one and a half years old when they traveled to Canada, writes Swedish Lady.
There is, of course, a logical explanation for that.
Stole the show
– The fact that he has not taken part in official visits abroad yet is simply about the opportunity not having presented itself, informs Vagle.
– Much because of the pandemic, where we all had to stay at home and at least not travel abroad.
