The Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and artistic gymnast Alina Kabaeva, the mother of his children, live together, according to the journalists of “Proekt Media”, who in an hour-long investigative film also report that Kabaeva has owned a particularly luxurious two-story penthouse in a high-rise building in Sochi since 2011 – this is in Russia the largest apartment.

Putin and Kabayev live together, most often in a residence in Valdaya, which has already become a village of representatives of the elite. Kabayeva’s sister also has an apartment nearby, while her assistants in connection with artistic gymnastics, as well as other relatives, often come to visit.
A separate house was built for her and her children on the territory of the Valdaja Palace, journalists have investigated. In 2021, a boat pier was built near the “wooden tower” of Kabayeva, from which you can swim across the canal and enter the 28-hectare park. The vicinity of the residence is a protected area, including the territory of the Valdaya National Park, protected by law. However, it was here in 2018 that the secret railway by which Putin arrives at his residence was built.
“Proekt Media” has investigated that the president’s funds, hidden in Cyprus, are used for the purchase of luxury real estate both for himself and for the needs of the Kremlin elite. According to what has been made public, a major player here is the Cypriot company “Ermira Consultants”, which owns shares in companies important to Putin. The former manager of the company told the media that until 2015, this company was owned by one Vladislav Kopilov – allegedly a lawyer from St. Petersburg, but in reality “Ermira” accounts were used to pay for the purchases of Putin and his relatives.
The aforementioned Kopilov is said to be zero – “a bum both by nature and appearance,” an information source told journalists. The company itself was said to be like a “common fund”. Since 2015, the ownership of this company has been transferred to offshore companies, behind which are probably Arkady Rotenberg’s people, according to the video material on Putin’s properties. According to it, Putin’s close people met with oligarchs Rotenberg and Yury Kovalchuk, expressed their wishes regarding the apartments to their subordinates, and then everything was bought with “Ermira” money.
In this way, in 2011, the then 28-year-old Kabaeva got four apartments in Sochi, one of which is a particularly luxurious penthouse and, according to real estate experts, it is the largest apartment in all of Russia. It is located in the “Royal Park” complex in Sochi and is 2,600 square meters in size. How 75 one-room apartments in “Khrushchevka” were taken together, researchers say.
The design of this Kabaeva apartment was developed by Valentin Yudashkin. The accommodation itself is located on the 16th floor of a 16-storey building and a helicopter can land on it. Most of the penthouse is covered by a lawn with all possible entertainment – a large pool, gazebos, barbecue area, bar with waterfall walls, dance hall. The apartment has 20 rooms, all of them have windows with a panoramic view.
The “Carienes” bedroom is decorated in soft pink tones, but several rooms shine in gold; the bathroom is dominated by white gold. The dining room, on the other hand, is in marble. There is also an art gallery in the residence, and the cabinet is finished with wood and leather. The apartment also has a proper cinema, SPA area, billiard room and other goodies. The value of the apartment is 100 million dollars, the journalists found out.
Two other apartments on the upper floors of the same building are named after Kabaeva’s grandmother, Anna Zatsepilina. All the apartments were bought at an inadequately low price for the market. Kabaeva’s apartment has never been registered in her name, its formal owners have changed over the years – that was the wish of Putin’s beloved.
Oleg Rudnov, who was close to Putin, was the owner of Kabaeva’s penthouse, after his death his son Sergey began to “manage”. Journalists did not meet this young man, nor Kabaeva’s grandmother Anna, in the apartments that supposedly belonged to them. Kabaeva has not been seen in the royal complex for several years, as she most likely lives permanently with Putin in the Valdaya residence, the authors of “Proekt Media” conclude.
