Accident near Dietingen: Driver rolls over several times and crashes into a tree – Rottweil and the surrounding area

A 49-year-old drove a drunk car on Saturday afternoon and caused an accident on the K 5562 between Dietingen and the Irslinger Kreuz.

As reported by the police, the man drove around 1.30 p.m. with a Golf from Dietingen on the K 5562 towards Irslinger Kreuz. He went off the right side of the road and swerved on the embankment there. The car rolled over several times, hit a tree and spun back onto the road, where it came to a stop on a small slope off the oncoming lane.



DRK and emergency doctor as well as the fire brigades from Dietingen and Rottweil made their way to the scene of the accident. The Dietingen fire brigade supported the first aider in caring for the patient, secured the vehicle against slipping, disconnected the battery of the accident vehicle and ensured fire protection.

Locked for two hours

The district road had to be closed for about two hours while the accident was being recorded and for the rescue work. It was diverted locally. The Dietingen fire brigade was deployed with 21 firefighters in four vehicles and the Rottweil fire brigade with 17 firefighters in four vehicles. The deputy general commander of the Dietingen fire brigade, Roman Jauch, was in charge of operations.

The police said it was a 49-year-old man. Property damage of around 8,000 euros was caused to the VW. During the course of checking the Golf driver, the police officers noticed the odor of alcohol on the man. An alcohol test could not be carried out.

After a blood test was taken and the driver’s license was confiscated, the 49-year-old now has to answer for driving under the influence of alcohol and the accident that was caused, according to the police.
