An official in the “Universal” company in its French branch told “Agence France Presse” that the musician died before midnight from Saturday to Sunday, confirming what was reported by the saxophonist and friend of the singer, Steve Gutkowski, about the death of Aggie-Lazaro, who “was nicknamed” Gro Francois “and Atilazaro.
Aggie-Lazaro’s voice is still present in the minds of his fans through the song “Dans la salle du bar-tabac de la rue des Martyrs”, which dates back to the sixties of the twentieth century and touches on the famous street in Pigalle district in Paris.
Aji-Lazaro founded his independent company, “Bushri Production”, which gave opportunities to a large number of emerging artists at the time, including Manu Negra, before it closed its doors in 2001 as a result of its bankruptcy.
Agui-Lazaro’s appearance caught the attention of film directors, who gave him minor roles in a number of works, including “The City of Lost Children” (La cite des enfants perdus) by French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and the movie “The Treaty of the Wolves” (Le Pacte des Loups).
