MBN without getting off, Netflix without even an apology… One bystander of assault and abuse

‘Burning Trotman’ Hwang Young-woong went through the finals despite controversy over assault in the past… Production crew, cast selection ‘regret’ only ‘Physical: 100’ Kim Da-young’s suspicions of school violence partially acknowledged Netflix, later broadcasts are also released without editing

The Netflix original drama ‘The Glory’, which tells the story of a school violence victim’s life turned into hell, became the most talked-about work, and lawyer Jung Soon-shin, who was appointed head of the National Investigation Headquarters of the police, dropped out due to his son’s school violence issue, awakening the seriousness of school violence in reality. However, broadcasting companies and online video service (OTT) platforms that have recently appeared in the broadcasts of people who have caused controversy due to past assault controversies show that they do not care about this and are buying frowns from viewers.

Hwang Young-woong, a candidate for the championship, is expected to appear as scheduled in the ‘Burning Trotman’ final broadcast on MBN on the afternoon of the 28th.

Hwang Young-woong recently stood at the center of controversy as his past assault and injury records were revealed, and on the 25th he acknowledged and apologized.

Previously, YouTuber Lee Jin-ho revealed on the 22nd that Hwang Young-woong had a record of injury after assaulting informant A, such as punching and kicking the face.

Hwang Young-woong sued for assault on both sides, but because of the testimony of his friends, it was decided not to send it.

In response, Hwang Young-woong acknowledged the suspicion, saying, “I deeply apologize to those who have suffered damage due to my own shortcomings and mistakes.”

At the same time, he appealed, “I ask you to reflect on the past and give me the opportunity to change and live as a better person,” implying that he will forcefully appear in the finals.

The production team of ‘Burning Trotman’ also said, “There were prior confirmations and pledges in the selection of performers, but due to realistic limitations, a regrettable situation occurred, and we apologize to viewers and fans,” but did not mention Hwang Young-woong getting off.

As the ‘Burning Trotman’ side decided to enforce Hwang Young-woong’s appearance, suspicions of ‘winner’s internal policy’ were raised in some places.

The production team dismissed the suspicion, saying, “According to the final score distribution method, the people’s real-time text voting score is the most decisive score, so I would like to say that it is a system in which no intervention is possible.”

Netflix received criticism for appearing in the entertainment show ‘Physical: 100’ with participants suspected of school violence in the past, and sending out the amount of the performer without editing even after the controversy arose.

Stunt actress Kim Da-yeong, who made it to the final 20 out of 100 participants, acknowledged some of the suspicions by posting a long post on Instagram on the 24th, ten days after the suspicion of past school violence arose.

Kim Da-young said, “I admit that I was a so-called student playing around 14 years ago.” She was immature, immature,” he said.

However, he said, “I have embarrassing memories of swearing and hurting my juniors as a senior, but I have never experienced physical violence or extorted pocket money at karaoke rooms or parks.” He refuted that the part that was said to have been true was not true.

Dayoung Kim admitted some of the suspicions, but neither Netflix, which aired ‘Physical: 100’, nor the MBC production team that produced the program, let alone apologized for the insufficient verification of the performers.

Following the allegation of school violence, another performer’s alleged assault on his girlfriend was reported, and ‘Physical: 100’ canceled the scheduled press conference and showed an urgent appearance to avoid a series of controversies.

As much as Netflix received favorable reviews for ‘The Glory’, which reminded us of the seriousness of school violence, criticism of ‘double attitude’ continues for its disappointing move.
