Ronaldo Giovanelli will be a candidate for the presidency of Corinthians

Former goalkeeper and current adviser to Corinthians Ronaldo Giovanelli will be a candidate for the club’s presidency in this year’s elections, for management between 2023 and 2026. The candidacy was launched by a group of Corinthians situation advisers.

The information was initially published by the portal Timão’s Central and confirmed soon after by the my helm. Ronaldo is part of plate 33, “Corinthians with Respect”, which has 151 seats on the Deliberative Council of the Parque São Jorge club.

The report of my helm tried to contact the former goalkeeper to comment on the candidacy, but has not received a response so far. If there is a pronouncement, the matter will be promptly updated.

Ronaldo made history at Corinthians at the end of the 20th century, being a key player in the team that won the first Brazilian Championship for the club, in 1990. Currently, Giovanelli works as a sports commentator for the “Jogo Aberto” program on Rede Bandeirantes and has a bust in his honor in the alleys of Parque São Jorge.

The only name already confirmed for this year’s election is Augusto Melo, who will launch his candidacy next March. In addition to him, advisor André Luiz de Oliveira, popularly known as “André Negão” was indicated by football director Roberto de Andrade as a likely candidate.
