Saudi Arabia has announced that there is now no quota for Umrah pilgrims per year. Any type of visa holder can do it.
Reported from Gulf, Tuesday (28/2/2023) The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that for Umrah pilgrims can use visit, tourism and labor visas. In addition, pilgrims can use different flights to go home and go.
However, the ministry still urges Umrah pilgrims to comply with the period of stay according to the permit for worship at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
Saudi Arabia has in recent months launched a number of facilities for Muslims who wish to perform Umrah. Muslims holding various types of entry visas such as personal, visit and tourism visas are permitted to perform Umrah and visit Al Rawda Al Sharifa, the tomb of Prophet Muhammad SAW located in the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.
Saudi authorities have also extended Umrah visas from 30 days to 90 days and allowed holders to enter the kingdom through all land, air and sea outlets and depart from any airport.
In another facilitating move, Saudi Arabia said its citizens can apply for visas by inviting their friends abroad to come and perform Umrah.
Last month, Saudi Arabia launched a stopover transit visa that allows holders to perform Umrah, visit the Prophet’s Mosque and others. A four-day transit visa is valid for 90 days.
