All dogs removed from a breeder in Brabant now have a safe home | inland

All 460 dogs that were taken from a breeder in Eersel in Brabant have now been given a safe home. The animals have been taken in at approved locations across the country.

The dogs were seized in January by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA). The breeder had already received a warning because the animals were not properly cared for. But during an inspection, the dogs were again found in poor conditions.

A safe place has now been found for all dogs, where they are cared for. The animals have all kinds of problems, says a spokesman for the NVWA Broadcasting Brabant. These range from tartar and scabies to serious behavioral disorders.

Many animals are fearful and are not used to humans. It will be several months for some dogs before they can be adopted.

The breeder was told in November last year that the breeding farm had to close. At least 460 dogs were seized during raids. At the last raid at the end of January, the breeder was allowed to keep about 150 animals. These animals were healthy and the NVWA is not allowed to take them.
