Saritha said she tried to kill him by adding chemicals; Treated at Srichitra as an invalid

Thiruvananthapuram ∙ The crime branch has collected the blood samples of Saritha S. Nair, the accused in the solar case, on the complaint that she tried to kill him several times by adding chemicals to his food. Saritha’s complaint is that former driver Vinukumar mixed the chemical. As there is no testing facility in Kerala, the samples will be sent to the National Forensic Science Laboratory in Delhi for testing. Saritha, who is physically challenged, is currently undergoing treatment at Sreechitra Institute.

After consuming the chemical, Saritha developed serious physical problems and lost her vision in her left eye. There was also a lack of influence in the left leg. In the FIR, it is stated that Vinukumar conspired with the accused in the complaint lodged by Saritha with the intention of killing the complainant through fraud and making financial profit. The complainant was given chemicals in such a way that she could die. IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 420 (cheating), 120B (conspiracy) and 34 (organized conspiracy) have been imposed.

Sarita says that the information came out when she sought treatment after contracting the disease. High levels of arsenic, mercury and lead were found in the blood. Saritha says that the assassination attempt started from 2018. The presence of poison was suspected when physical difficulties were encountered. However, the complaint was not lodged as it was not possible to identify who it was. Saritha said that on January 3, 2022, during the journey, it was learned that Vinukumar had mixed the chemical at a juice shop in Karamana.

After receiving the complaint, the crime branch conducted a preliminary investigation. Vinukumar’s house was also inspected. Information was also collected from treating doctors. The investigation team collected Vinukumar’s phone records. Saritha says that apart from Vinukumar, some others are also involved in this. She testified that they tried to endanger her for financial reasons.
