Cloudy with rain in the first days of March – Weather – Bulgaria – NOVA news

In the coming days we will welcome the meteorological spring. The weather will be often changeable, but without prolonged cold weather.

A yellow code for strong winds has been announced for today in 14 regions of the country, according to the map of dangerous phenomena on the website of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

Strong wind warnings will apply to the regions of Burgas, Varna, Dobrich, Silistra, Shumen, Yambol, Sliven, Targovishte, Razgrad, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Haskovo and Kardjali.

The last two days of February will be mostly cloudy with rain showers. On Monday, it will rain briefly over almost the entire country during the day. There will also be thunderstorms as the cold front passes. In the early hours, the first ones already passed over the western regions.

The wind will remain with stronger gusts to the south and east – that’s where the daytime temperatures will be higher. While in the northwest the thermometers during the day will show around and slightly above 10 degrees, in the east the values ​​will be around 20 degrees.

On Tuesday, cloud cover will remain significant with rain showers, but temperatures will drop a few degrees. However, the wind will be noticeably weaker. Wednesday, the first day of March, will be cloudy and cool, but the chance of precipitation will be small.

In the second half of the week, cold air will continue to invade. In the days surrounding the national holiday, March 3, precipitation in the higher regions of Western Bulgaria will change to snow, but without accumulation of snow cover. Temperatures will drop, but even early in the morning the thermometers will not fall below minus 3-4 degrees.

Around March 7-8, a period of warmer weather is ahead – again the thermometers will jump to spring levels between 15 and 20 degrees. As of March 10, another March cooling will follow with conditions for rain and snow.
