A Russian plane is said to have been destroyed on an airstrip near Belarus’ capital Minsk, claims the country’s exiled opposition.
– Partisans confirmed a successful special operation to blow up a rare Russian plane at an airport near Minsk, tweets Franak Viacorka, a close adviser to opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaja.
Two Belarusians carried out the operation using drones, according to Viacorka, who added that the two have already left Belarus and are safe.
Viacorka did not say which plane was destroyed, but according to media close to the opposition, it was an A-50 surveillance plane.
The AFP news agency has not been able to verify the claim, and the Russian defense has not commented on the matter.
