Grenoble. Combat sports were in the spotlight

Fans of karate, MMA, sambo, free boxing or Khmer kun could not miss this meeting on February 22 at the Berthe de Boissieux gymnasium in Grenoble. A great first in Grenoble.

Organized by the Grenoble Karate Club, the course brought together around fifty participants around a prestigious set: Gilles Acciotti, the founder of the SDKA team (Sambo defense koroho Alpes) and renowned teacher of the three forms of sambo, MMA and boxing free and which officiates in Rioupéroux and Domène with more than 120 athlete members. At his side Rothana Chan, a Cambodian professional of Khmer kun who participates in the Championship and has more than 100 fights to his name. With them Dris Bendi, 1is at the French free boxing cup and qualified for the 2023 world cup. Finally, the third in the European Sambo championship, Pierre Pinto.

The course took place in two rooms of the sports complex with licensees of martial arts clubs in the agglomeration who for more than two hours benefited from the advice and coaching of the four specialists. Stéphane Poirot, the communication manager of the Community of communes of Oisans and member of the Karate club of Grenoble at the origin of this evening, did not hide his satisfaction.

A great operation to promote karate sports and in particular MMA, a combination of mixed martial arts, a combat sport with total contact which allows the use in competition of a wide variety of combat techniques and skills resulting from a mixture other combat sports. The rules allow the use of standing and ground striking techniques. Long decried in France, for its dangerousness, it has now found a place of choice, for two years, and attracts more and more followers.

A course that proved the general enthusiasm for these combat sports that carry the values ​​of courage, modesty and humility and above all respect and honor, with a virtuous moral code for youth.
