Jakarta Washed By Rain, Several Trees and Billboards Uprooted

The DKI Jakarta area was showered with quite heavy rain from this afternoon until tonight. a number tree and billboard fell at several points in the capital.

The fall of a number of trees and billboards was conveyed by the TMC Polda Metro Jaya Twitter, Sunday (26/2/2023) evening. A billboard fell down in the Kembangan area, West Jakarta.

“21.23 #Polri Sat Then West Jakarta & related agencies evacuate billboards that have collapsed under the Pesanggrahan flyover near Puri Park View Apartments Meruya Utara Kembangan West Jakarta, be careful for motorists when crossing,” wrote TMC Polda Metro Jaya.

Meanwhile, a tree fell in the Pasar Minggu area, South Jakarta. Joint officers evacuated the fallen tree.

“22.27 the tree fell on the power lines and blocked the road around Jl. Kebagusan Wates No. 98, RT.3/RW.4, Kebagusan, Ps. Minggu, City of South Jakarta, currently in the process of evacuating related agencies, be careful for motorists when crossing,” said TMC Polda Metro Jaya.

Fallen trees also occurred in the Kebayoran Lama area, hitting power lines and residents’ houses. Officers reminded residents to cross the road.

“22.35 the tree fell on power lines and residents’ houses on Jl. Taman Radio Dalam 7 Gang Swadaya 5 Kel. Gandaria Utara Kec Kebayoran Lama South Jakarta behind Kostrad, currently in the process of evacuating related agencies, be careful for motorists when crossing,” he added.

As is known, heavy rain was observed in Mampang Praparan, South Jakarta on Sunday (26/2) around 19.30 WIB. In addition, it also feels strong winds.

In Kebon Bawang, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, heavy rain and strong winds were also observed. The wind rain made rainwater splash onto the balcony of the 2-floor house. Heavy rain was also observed in Limo, Depok. The rain was accompanied by strong winds.
