Mansory presents the Mercedes G-Class Coupe. It does not go into the field

If you’re looking for a luxury SUV, the back seats of which are difficult to climb into, the car manufacturers’ ready-made offer has nothing to offer. Three-door bodies have almost disappeared, mainly due to poorer practicality. The German tuner Mansory wants to reverse this trend and starts from the upper floors of the car market – from the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

In the past, it also existed as a “three-door”, but the current civilian generation is made with only two pairs of side doors. Mansory offers the Gronos Coupe Evo C model to the eight richest of those who would prefer a three-door body.

The technical basis is the Mercedes-AMG G 63, for which the tuner moved the B-pillar a bit back and attached hinges for the front doors opening in the opposite direction to it. To make it easier for passengers to get into the rear seats, when it was difficult for them by modifying the bodywork, the front seats can be folded forward.

Nonsense? Of course. As well as the fact that gronos is originally an off-road car, which during modification received 24″ wheels with thin tires, monstrous bumpers, an equally wild hood structure and a chameleon color. And for the interior, white leather with gold accessories.

Under the hood is a four-liter eight-cylinder, whose output has increased to 900 hp and 1,200 Nm, so that the mastodon shoots to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, and the speed limiter at 250 km/h stops it in flight. At first glance, this looks like a lot, but the gronos, like all the other versions of the G-Class from Mansory, can also be had with armor, and with that extra weight, a lot of power will come in handy.

The car is marked “One of one”, although eight will be produced. It’s not much either, but according to the customizer, each of the eight selected customers will have the opportunity to customize the car exactly to their liking. The price will also depend on the resulting specification; the basis is not known, but let’s not count on any lacia.
