Šumperk leaves the second highest competition after three seasons. The indignation of the fans there was even more intensified by the information about the sale of the club, which the Dragons published on their website in the evening.
“The manager of the company HOKEJ ŠUMPERK 2003, s.r.o. offers to buy a hundred percent share of the company. The goal is to secure sporting ambitions and economic strength for Šumperk in the future. Any questions and offers should be directed to the address or contact of the club by March 24, 2023,” reads the club.
The dragons could still have a chance to save in the event of a win over Kolín, but they were not enough for the opponent in a stripped-down line-up, they lost 0:3 after a bloodless performance and given that with two rounds to go they are already eight points behind the Pardubice B team, after three years are leaving the Chance League.

At the same time, Šumperk didn’t do badly at all this year, at the turn of November and December they had a seven-game point streak, but then the turning point came, since the subsequent international break, they fell down the table and got only three victories and nine points from 21 matches.
The wards of coach Josef Málek, who recently took over the team from Lukáš Majer, will play two more matches – on Monday they will play against Poruba on the ice, on Wednesday they will say goodbye to the competition at home against Pardubice B. After that, the Dragons will probably have wild weeks, they will play at least the second league?
