Age Origins revealed an interesting detail about the Morrigan model

Dragon Age: Origins lead writer David Gaider was criticized for an earlier statement he made regarding Morrigan when he wanted a remake of the classic game, however he responded with a simple explanation. It turns out that the explanation contains interesting information about the creation of Dragon Age: Origins.

A former Dragon Age screenwriter recently expressed a desire for BioWare to create a remaster for Dragon Age: Origins. In a few tweets, he talked about how he’d like to see what the game could look like with “brand new gimmicks and fakes from the PS5 era.” He added that even Dragon Age: Inquisition-level graphics would be great, as he would like to see Morrigan “not with the shoulders of a linebacker”, and the sex scenes would look better than “someone knocking puppets together.” Some were offended by the statement about Morrigan, but the screenwriter was quick to clarify the situation the next day.

The reason for this statement is very simple. In Dragon Age: Origins, all female models used a male animation rig, as explained by David Gaider. Fashion designers and animators at that time were very limited in their possibilities, and therefore they came to this decision. As a result, the animations and models looked understandably weird at times, especially when it came to Morrigan, whose model was designed to have a very slender build, but her shoulders were flared out specifically for ease of animation. David Gaider saw the model prior to the changes and would like to see Morrigan with her original body design in the remake.

Many fans expressed their support after the tweet, and were unhappy with how quickly the fandom took up arms against the writer, who gave them great stories and memorable characters up to Dragon Age: Inquisition. Many also said how happy they are to hear such interesting information about the creation of the game. Among the original accusers who showered Gaider with various insults for criticizing Morrigan’s appearance, there were several people who returned to apologize under the latest tweet after realizing their mistake.
