Villeta: With an investment of 30 million US dollars, a German company will start producing soy biodiesel in April. The industrial plant will produce the raw material from degummed soybean oil. The aim is to supply both the domestic and the foreign market.
This was announced by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) on Wednesday, whose authorities conducted a technical tour of the factory and stressed that this new industrial policy facilitates the development of competitive biofuel production in Paraguay. The production volume is expected to reach 300 tpd with a future forecast of 450 tpd.
The company is Cremer Óleo Paraguay, which is in the final assembly phase and employs at least 250 people. Accompanied by the main managers of the complex, the representatives of the MIC spoke to the workers of the plant, whose construction is 95% complete.
The company has an installed biodiesel production capacity of 100,000 tpa, which is covered by local suppliers of raw materials such as soybean oil. According to RIEL, the annual soybean oil production capacity is 427,215 t. The chain of workers for the construction work was covered by national companies for 90%.
They also mentioned that the company has recognized the importance of the benefit granted by Law No. 6389/2019, in which crude oil is included as a raw material for the biofuel industry, and therefore strategically located in the city of Villeta, in front of the Angostura SA Agro-Industrial Complex (Caiasa) settled, through which it will be connected by a pipeline that will provide all the raw materials necessary for the second phase of industrialization.
