Cat S75 Rugged Smartphone Gets Two-Way Satellite Support

Operating in the British market, the company Bullitt Group introduced a new smartphone. It is a licensee of the North American company Caterpillar. The Cat S75 mobile device has received support for two-way satellite communications. Among Android-smartphones, only Motorola Defy 2 can boast of similar functionality, the official premiere of which took place this week.

Unlike the iPhone 14, the Cat S75 can be used to send messages via satellite to others, not just emergency services. This can be done while in the middle of the desert or the ocean. The message will be delivered to the recipient as a regular SMS. No special equipment or software is required to receive it. To reply to a message, all you have to do is install the Bullitt Satellite Messenger mobile applet on your smartphone.

The Cat S75 enclosure complies with IP69K and IP68 and Mil-Spec 810H. This means that it is reliably protected from water, dirt, dust, sand, vibrations, falls from a height and temperature extremes.

The novelty is equipped with a 6.6 ”FHD + screen with Corning Victus tempered glass, MTK Dimensity D930 chipset, 8 MP front camera, triple rear camera (50, 8 and 2 MP), 5G modem, 6 GB RAM module, 128 GB flash drive and 5,000 mAh battery. Out of the box, a secure smartphone comes with Android 12. The manufacturer promises to update it to Android 14. As for security updates, smartphone buyers will receive them over the next five years.

Cat S75 with 3-month satellite subscription is 600 EUR. You can buy a smartphone only in the EMEA region.
