A cafe owner in South Kuta, Bali kill an Australian citizen who is drunk and misbehaving. The perpetrator did murder using a wooden chair.
Head of Bali Police Public Relations, Kombes Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto said the murder occurred because the perpetrator was annoyed with the victim’s behavior last Thursday (23/2).
“The victim was allegedly under the influence of alcohol so the victim acted out of control. As a result of the fight, the victim died,” said Satake, Friday (2/24).
The perpetrator’s motive, namely to attack or kill this life, is due to the perpetrator’s momentary emotion,” said Bambang during a press conference at the South Kuta Police Headquarters, Friday (24/2).
The perpetrator was I Gede Wijaya (39), the owner of the Uncle Benz cafe. While the victim is an Australian citizen named Troy Johnston Mccallum Scott (40). According to the police, the two had known each other since two days earlier.
Initially the victim came to the perpetrator’s cafe and drank wine together and was treated by the victim. However, soon the victim was drunk and out of control.
The victim caused trouble by throwing bottles and glasses and urinating on and hitting the perpetrator.
The perpetrator is then emotional. He immediately took a wooden chair and hit the victim once until he fell down. At that time there were only perpetrators and victims in the cafe.
“The perpetrator lifted the chair in front of him to hit the victim,” said Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Bambang Yugo Pamungkas.
The victim had just been in Bali for two days on vacation with his wife. The victim immediately became acquainted with the perpetrator who was the owner of the Uncle Benz cafe.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator, I Gede Wijaya, admitted that he was annoyed and could not control his emotions towards the victim. Especially when the victim urinated on his left foot.
“Left leg (which urinated on) and the victim lost control and I tried to win over the victim and told him to calm down,” said I Gede Wijaya, who has become a suspect.
