Xu Qing, a second-year student from Xie En Middle School, ran 12.47 seconds in the women’s C Grade 100-meter preliminary race, breaking the record by 0.01 seconds. She also beat her teammate Huang Yongtong who ran 12.49 seconds to enter the final first. Li Zitao, the 100-meter bronze medalist in the Asian and Junior Track and Field Competition, and Li Zitao from the College of the University of Hong Kong, advanced to the first place in the A Grade, but she shed tears because her performance did not meet expectations.

Huang Yongtong of Xie En first ran 12.49 seconds in the first group preliminary race, only 0.01 seconds slower than the old record. Her teammate Xu Qing played in the next group and crossed the line in 12.47 seconds, breaking the old record of 12.48 seconds set by Lu Jialin of Good Hope School in 2009-10.

It was because she made a small mistake at the start, which made the final time not as expected.
