Sameh Al-Sayed, head of the Poultry Division at the Chamber of Commerce, added that the decrease in prices came after offering 100,000 tons of frozen poultry on the market, imported from Brazil, which is less than 30% less than similar ones in the market, indicating that these quantities are offered at the outlets of government agencies, including those of the Ministry of Supply. .
He added, in statements to “The Seventh Day”, that the offered weights of frozen poultry start from one kilo and reach 1.5 kilos, within the framework of government policies that aim to control the price movement of chickens after their recent price hike, so that a kilo is traded above 95 pounds for the consumer.
The head of the Poultry Division pointed out that the coming period will witness the introduction of quantities of imported poultry on a large scale in various outlets and exhibitions to control the price before the holy month of Ramadan, expecting a decrease in prices in local poultry during the middle of next March.
