The US Department of Defense has announced a new $2 billion aid package to Ukraine. Earlier new military aid to Kyiv announced in the White House.
The weapons included in the new package are designed to strengthen the air defense of Ukraine, the Pentagon said in a statement. The new package will include, among other things, additional CyberLux K8, Switchblade 600, Altius-600 and Jump 20 drones, anti-drones and enemy electronic warfare systems, as well as ammunition, including for HIMARS.
The Pentagon specified that this package of military assistance will be provided as part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). This means that the promised equipment will not be transferred from the stocks of the US Department of Defense, but will be ordered from manufacturers.
